Code-only motion design: a free launch video pipeline

What if a launch video could be built the same way you build a website: with code, exact timing, and the ability to tweak one scene without touching the rest? That is what claude-motion-design does for Claude Code. It turns HTML, Playwright, and ffmpeg into a motion design studio. There is no After Effects, no Remotion license, and no editing app in the middle.

The repo includes a real example: the launch video for Howseen, an AI visibility tracker. The whole film is one seek(t) function, rendered frame by frame, with motion blur and sound effects placed at their measured peaks. A local business could use the same approach to make a short launch video or social reel from its logo, brand colors, and a script. Because the video is code, an AI assistant can make changes like "speed up the transitions" or "add a logo on the drop" as code changes, then render again.

Cost is the best part for a small shop. The skill code is MIT-licensed and free. You need free tools like Chromium, ffmpeg, and Python, plus a Claude Code setup. Music, sound effects, and photos come from free sources such as Mixkit, Pexels, and Unsplash under their own licenses, so check each license before using them in paid work. Build videos from your own logo, photos and words, never by copying someone else's video.
